Meeting Notes 7/14/18

Incident Report Update:
 Trish found an condom under one of the customers seats. Customer was making alleged inappropriate gestures to an employee. Customer warned about inappropriate behavior. 
Per Drew:
* Everyone has a right to be in the library, however inappropriate behavior is unacceptable and should be reported. 
* If a customer makes you feel uncomfortable report it to management immediately. 

Stats: Computer 1 on 1
Reminder: Per Drew “everyone should be keeping a count of the attendees in Open Job Lab and keeping up the stats are very important. Our productivity numbers have increased since we have started logging in the stats.”
Exam:
* Any computer assistance questions and how questions should be counted in two sections: reference and computer 101.  
* Where and when questions should be counted under directional. 
* Write zero (0) if you have a class and no one attends
* Phone questions should be logged in stats. 
* Kids questions should be logged in stats.

Computer Class 
Class attendance is increasing. 
Per Drew, “People in the community love Blueridge Library. We offer senior programs, but we never lose focus on the young kids and the youth programs we offer. 

Youth Services Meeting
Freda attended the “Youth Services Meeting.” They spoke on kids, literature and reader advisory. 

Nobel List
We can promote Nobel List K-8. Search for Title or Author for kids, if we don’t have the book suggestions will be made for similar book. 
Per Drew, “Ask probing questions to figure out what books kids like. The link is located on the Kids Page on HPL – Linked to Catalog – Green Tab. We should also utilize the supply room in Youth Dept.”

Suggestions
Per Drew, “Summer Reading Program is allowing books to be retro (ed) back to June 1st. Dolly Parton has a program where she sends free books to kids ranging from Birth – Kinder. Reading begins at home.
