That means if you feel comfortable clearing a fine, you do not have to get my permission or the permission from Central Circulation. The important thing is to leave a note with the amount forgiven, the reason it was forgiven, a date, the branch initials, and your initials.
As a reminder, every fine that does not have an item name attached to it can be forgiven for the reason "fine forgiven in amount (the total amount of the forgiven fines) because we could not describe the times associated with the fines". This can result in hundreds of dollars being waved!
Of course, if there is a fine you are not comfortable waving and the customer is still dissatisfied, feel free to involve me or central circulation. I want everyone to feel empowered, not abandoned.
